Baba Siri Chand Ji Government College Bathinda, the affiliated college was started in year 1997 situated at Sardargarh, Bathinda Punjab. Situated on camp like area of 20 acres, this government multi disciplined institution has been imparting education since last more than two decades. There are at present three distinct programs in the college for degree completion, and it may serve 64 students. The gratifying student and faculty ratio of 9 educators means that students really get much attention and quality learning at the institution.

Like any other institution, the college has a variety of amenities created for improving the learning process of it students. If a library is well equipped, its role is a number one knowledge base that contains all the necessary material for a student. It also has well-equipped contemporary and specialised departmental laboratories enriched for practical learning most especially for the technical learners. As far as programs of study are concerned, Baba Siri Chand Ji Government College offers three regular programmes at different levels of education. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme is an undergraduate course spread over three years and is a part of the liberal arts education. For students interested in computer applications, there is a three years Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course is available with an intake capacity of 50 students. 

Further, for students’ postgraduate category interested in specialising computer applications, there is one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) for 40 students. The intake of students for the BCA programme is 60+30 of PGDCA hence combining them totals to 90 students an indication of the institutions’ emphasis on the computer science Department.
