Basav Engineering School of Technology, Zalki was founded in 2017 at Zalki in the state of Karnataka is a budding institution. This affiliated college, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education is all about excellence in engineering education. BEST is privileged to be located on a large 102,194 square meter land to allow for proper learning environment. The institute has a total student enrolment of 160 where as the total no of faculty members are 23 which makes it easier for the institute to provide requisite attention and guidance to its students. As of now, BEST has four BE programmes that suit different engineering specialities as well as challenges of technological advancement.

In this respect, the Basav Engineering School of Technology has a variety of facilities which are convenient to enhance academic processes. The acquisition and organisation of information resources is focused at the centre of the library in form of books, journals and electronic materials. While using the dell Net subscription students can access both the national and international journals and also e-journals. Ample laboratory facilities are available along with computer facilities enhancing the practical knowledge essential for engineering courses on campus. The IT facilities of the college are alive with a centralised computer room consisting of 40 computers along with standard configuration and hardware characteristics. All departments are linked by a client-server network so they can communicate and share resources effectively. For the students that need to be accommodated BEST provides both the hostels for boys and separate hostels for girls, where student can comfortably live away from home.

About academic programmes, it is clear that BEST has provided a package suitable for student who wants to become an engineer. The institute currently provides four BE programmes: Civil, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Mechanical disciplines. Each programme lasts for four years and upon completion the graduate will have the theoretical knowledge as well as the practical skills. 

Due to this, the Basav Engineering School of Technology has come up with standard procedures towards admission of its students. Originally, the institute’s admission process mostly relies on the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for the engineering streams. This makes sure eligible students as per the standard set across the state get a chance to be part of BEST to have an engineering future.
