Basugaon College of Chirang is an accredited college of Assam, established in 1986, and located in Basugaon. This co-educational affiliated college is located on a big campus of 5 acres, which can provide a good atmosphere to learn and grow up. With the total enrolment capacity of 785 students and a faculty of 35, the college has an outstanding student-faculty ratio, thereby facilitating proper individual care and quality education. 10 different courses spread over 4 degree programmes are offered by the Basugaon College in the arts and computer application stream. 

The college has put in place remarkable amenities that are dedicated to improving the learning environment. Its girls hostel is well equipped and has the capacity to accommodate forty students, thus ensuring the students a safe and comfortable place to live in. The library, containing a vast number of text books, reference books, journals, and newspapers, is a great asset in any academic institution coupled with the study centre. However, many of the technologies and information taught in the college are practical in nature, and to cater for their needs, there are various departmental laboratories in the college. 

The campus has a well-equipped hall for cultural programmes and seminars, a mess where hygienic vegetarian food is available, and a dispensary for simple ailments. Computer literacy forms an essential part of the college’s structure, where a well-equipped computer laboratory caters to the needs of BCA and other information technology-related courses. Sport lovers will enjoy practicing on the college field, which is extended to accommodate all the activities, while in the indoor facility there are plans of putting up a multi-gym facility. 

Currently, Basugaon College has 10 full-time courses available, mostly majoring in Bachelor of Arts (BA) in different fields. The college offers ten courses, thereby having the following first-tier degrees: BA (General), BA Education, Bodo, Political Science, Assamese, History, English, and Economics Honours.
