Bharathiyar College of Education, Marakkanam is an affiliated college, situated in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu and was started in the year 2008. This co-educational institution that is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is involved in offering teachers training courses only. Situated on a modest 5-acre campus, the college offers two full-time courses, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Bharathiyar College of Education takes only 175 students in a year and has a teaching faculty of 16 members which helps provide individualised training for education aspirants.

B.Ed course is a two-year full-time course and has been approved to admit 100 students. The second full time programme is the Diploma is Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) which also avails 50 seats. These constitute the troop of academic programmes that provide for the skills and knowledge in teaching practice, for the college is preparing skilled and knowledgeable educators for the primary and secondary schools. The total student enrolment of 175  confirms that the capacity of the college is fully utilised effectively along with all of its facilities.
