Bishop Agniswamy College of Education Muttom, which was opened in 2005, is one of the largest schools for teacher training situated in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. This college for boys and girls is recognized by and is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college covers a total area of approximately 9 acres and provide two teaching specialization degrees. Bishop Agniswamy College of Education is the best place for future teachers as it take only 195 students and has 18 faculties. 

The college has a host of facilities cutting trace with today’s technological advances to facilitate the learning process of the students. Equipped with state of the art computer and other facilities, the computerized generation library is recognized as the knowledge center and discovery and learning is a continuous process. Its technological resources are well developed; there are comfortable computer classes that are equipped for fifty students with Internet connection provided to each student. This emphasis for shaping future teachers makes student more prepare for the world that is mostly full of technology. The college also has specific experimental laboratories and study halls, for example, a language lab. Additional to learning institutions, the college has theatre for extra curriculum activities, games and carnivals. The campus has a cafeteria, a mini supermarket and parking space to cater for the students and the staff. There is also an accommodation amenity of a health centre that has a first aid section to help attending students.

Bishop Agniswamy College of Education offers two full-time courses: an undergraduate degree in B.Ed and a postgraduate degree in M.Ed. The B.Ed programme has an approved intake of 100 whereas M.Ed programme has an approved intake off 50. Each programme is to be taken for two years and gives the desired knowledge of educational theory and practice. These core education programmes offer the college formulation to provide specialised and more intensified training for the future educators.

Bishop Agniswamy College of Education also has the privilege to admit students on the basis of marks secured by them in the qualifying /entrance tests. For the B.Ed programme we follow the admission policy framed by the state government, UT administration and the university. Likewise, there is a strict policy extended to the admission of students in the M.ED programme which is based on merit policy of state government, university or UT Administration.
