Biswanath College of Education, Chariali, was founded in 1993 and is the premier institution for teacher training, located in Biswanath, Assam. This co-ed college has a campus of 4 acres with the pivotal idea of developing future teachers. The National Council for Teacher Education has enlisted this college, which has two specialised programs in education. Spread over a student strength of 200, Biswanath College of Education has taken particular care in maintaining a faculty strength of 12 to ensure that each aspiring teacher gets a focused learning environment. 

The college features many facilities, all aimed at enriching the learning environment for the students. It is the knowledge hub of the library, with relevant resources for research and study. Both these courses are of two-year duration, providing thorough training in the theoretical and practical aspects of education. With only these two core programmes, the college can pay special attention to the teacher-training programs and ensure that its products turn out to be highly competent to take up challenging tasks in the education sector.

Biswanath College of Education admission is based on merit, formulated with regard to marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The admissions to B.Ed. courses are done as per the state government and affiliated university policy. That for D.El.Ed also follows the same lines, and the state government or UT administration policy guides it.
