BKM College of Education is affiliated college in Nawan Shahar, Punjab established in 2005. This College is for both boys and girls approved by the national council for teacher education New Delhi and having its specialisation in teacher education. Located at a small area of 3 acres, the college is presently offering its education to a total strength of 179 students and 17 faculty members. BKM College of Education offers two full-time courses.
The BKM College of Education has thus developed several infrastructures that would improve the learning environment of the college students. A well furnished girls’ hostel on the college campus to meet and enhance the modern necessity of the female students is available. It is an important reference centre for all students and helps them with their work. People who have interest in sports can participate in different sports activities; being the annual sports day aimed at helping the students balance their education with sports. The college is equipped with an IT section, for efficient learning the college has a computer laboratory with Pentium III & IV computer to enable the students to catch up with the modern advancement in education. To cater with the hands on thinking style, excellent science laboratory is equipped with latest apparatus and equipment. It also has an auditorium for occasions and there is a seminar also to ensure an active campus life.
BKM College of Education has in total two courses that they offer, both of which are full time. Seats are sanctioned for 100 students in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme and for 50 students in Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme. These programmes are such that will help students to achieve success in their chosen area of specialty in either teaching or education administration.
