Black Diamond College of Engineering and Technology, Jharsuguda: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Black Diamond College of Engineering and Technology (BDCET) was set up in 2008, at Jharsuguda, Odisha. This affiliated college is approved from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and it offer various engineering courses. Located on a thirty-acre land, BDCET enrolleds a total of five hundred and eighty seven students and has a workforce of forty three faculty members. Now the institute offers six B.Tech courses such as computer science and engineering, electronics & telecommunication engineering, and mechanical engineering for different engineering dreams.

The following are some of the facilities BDCET has to offer in enhancement of its academics. The college provides separate hostels for boys and girls, with well furnished rooms with washrooms, 24 hours light and students are connected to internet. Basic to any institution, a central library provides information to students, academic and research as well as staff. The campus consists of well-equipped physiognomical laboratories along with various special laboratories such as Power Electronics Lab, VLSI & Embedded System Lab etc., which provide practical knowledge. To promote student’s health needs, the college has medical facilities to address students’ needs round the clock, the school also has qualified doctors. This college also attaches more importance to the co-curricular activities and has provision for athletic that has exercise grounds and an acoustic for functions and seminars.

Out of the various institutes, currently offering B.Tech programs, the one as listed below provides a total of six full time B.Tech programs all of which last for four years. Diploma and advanced diploma courses offer main areas of engineering knowledge and prepare students in respective disciplines. The total approved intake for all these courses is one hundred and eighty-eight, spread across the specialization areas. Although the number of graduates for the latest year is not mentioned, the college student population is equal to its intake limit that is 587 students which shows an efficient academic production line.

The admission in BDCET now is solely depends on the JEE Main examination, organized by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. This examination is conducted at the national level and is the most common entry route to the college and its various B.Tech progammes. Notably, the college also offers admission based on scores that a student has obtained from the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) apart from the usual central and state government undertaken examinations. The above tests produce credible scores for a competitive selection process in compliance with the set standards for engineering admission all over the country. No particular dates for admission are defined; however, the potential student should follow the JEE Main and OJEE timings as they define the time of admission to college.
