    About Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology, MCTI Campus, Bhubaneswar

    The present study is carried out in a specialised institution, the CIPET, Bhubaneswar – known as the MCTI Campus, which offers education in petrochemical engineering and technology. This institute was set up in 2005 as a government of Odisha and is located in the Mancheswar Industrial Area, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Small in size, the CIPET Bhubaneswar campus is spread over 5 acres and, as such, offers a niche programme in plastics and petrochemicals technology. It is affiliated to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICT) Currently the institute has two hundred-odd students (strength: 503) and 30 faculty members. CIPET Bhubaneswar is also distinctive for its specialisation; it offers only three regular courses in different streams but at diploma and postgraduate diploma levels, all of which are peeped in plastics technology and its ancillary field.

    As for others infrastructure facility, Available at CIPET Bhubaneswar: Over and above a host of recreational and co-curricular activities, which help to develop the overall personality and skills of the students. Facilities include well-developed laboratory facilities with sophisticated equipment needed for practical skills that favour the campus and industry. Education : Academic Resource Centre is an efficient library that serves the purpose of knowledge for learning and research. For its clients who may require physical exercise, the institute provides a gym for BODY BUILDING.  The campus also has self-contained hostels for male and female students who have accommodation challenges within and outside the campus. Other special features include an auditorium to conduct seminars, meetings, etc.; a cafeteria for dining; and a health facility with first aid facilities, etc. In addition to these, the IT setup in the institute also helps in facilitating class-based and other advanced forms of learning and teaching; the sports facilities in the institute foster a rich student life. This is an Affiliated College of Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela.

    In terms of curriculum, the CIPET Bhubaneswar offers a niche setup with three full-time courses. These include two diploma programmes and one postgraduate diploma programme, all focused on the field of plastics technology.
