The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology, Centre for Skilling and Technical Support, Dehradun (CIPET Dehradun) is an exclusive organisation in the field of plastics engineering and technology. Operating from Doiwala, Dehradun, the institute was founded in 2018 as a standalone institute. CIPET Dehradun functions under the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which is responsible for the standard of education at technical institutions in the country pertains to plastics engineering. 

The campus lies on approximately 4.05 acres of land which makes it compact to facilitate its students with focused learning environment. CIPET Dehradun is a small institute that was established in the year 1998 and currently having 157 students and facultymember capacity of 16. Currently the institute offers only two diploma courses, which speaks about its agenda of being an institute that offers specialized technical training in plastics.

CIPET Dehradun has a number of facilities in its college to provide the best environment to its students. The institute provides a facility of separate hostels for boys and girls with facilities such as internet, gym, lounge and dining hall. These hostels offer a safer living with better water facility arrangements and they are pre-equipped with power supply back up. The campus includes a fully furnished auditorium with a seating capacity of 250 students, used for lectures, training, and conference. 

A cafeteria at the campus provides healthy low priced meal, this provides a relaxed socialization environment for students and faculty. It has a well equipped library which contains copious amount of books and number of journals basically related to polymer science and technology. It is equipped with the automatic library system where the RFID technology in practice is incorporated to most of the operations. Besides, CIPET Dehradun has sports facilities, IT requirements, and well equipped laboratory for practical exposure.

There are two 3 year full time diploma programs in CIPET Dehradun. Facilities provide a Diploma in Plastics Technology; total intake of 120 students and a Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology; total intake of 60 students. These programmes are meant to equip individuals with knowledge and more to do with specialized area of the students. The total number of students offered these courses is one hundred and eighty, to ensure that the institute maintains an ideal student to teacher ratio in order to enhance student learning. 

The admission procedures at CIPET Dehradun is based on CIPET Admission procedure. CIPET has a separate centralized entrance examination called CIPET JEE to which prospective students need to apply. This exam developed ensures that the candidates who are to be given a chance to join the institute take exams that indicate their ability to study certain specialized courses as offered by the institute.

  • The three-year, full-time Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology programme can accept up to 60 students. As with the diploma in Plastics Technology, this course also takes through students who pass the CIPET JEE. The course has a special focus on technical skills in plastics mould technology. Suitable candidates who qualify according to CIPET's eligibility criteria by passing the entrance examination are considered for the course.
