College of Agriculture, Hassan Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has well-equipped laboratories for teaching and learning core and allied subjects of the curriculum. The state-of-the-art agricultural chemistry laboratory is established for conducting chemical analyses of diverse plant and soil samples as a part of the curriculum as well as contemporary research. The plant pathology lab is also tailor-made to meet the requirements of teaching as well as disease forecasting. Major facilities in the pathology lab are a bio-safety containment facility, a high-resolution microscope, an ELISA reader, etc. Agri. The microbiology lab is strengthened with facilities for bench-scale fermentation, bio-fertilizer production, and studies on bio-control agents and bio-energy.

The college library has more than 20,000 accessions pertaining to agriculture and various allied disciplines of agriculture, basic sciences and humanities, personality development and philosophy, literature (fiction and nonfiction of both English and Kannada languages) and books for all kinds of competitive examinations are also made available to the students. Along with these books, SC/ST book bank has been established. Further, there are separate sections for News papers and Magazines, JRF studies, Competitive Studies, New arrivals, Book issue, References etc.  

The College Provides 19 games and sports clubs like Athletics, Badminton, Basketball Cricket, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Indoor games, Kabbadi, Tennis, Kho Kho, Table Tennis, Wrestling, Volleyball and Yogic exercises under the overall supervision of the University Sports Council/Student Welfare. The University provides sufficient games and sports materials to the students as well as University level teams.

The College Boys Hostels are situated at GKVK, Chintamani, Mandya & Hassan. The Chief Wardens are looking after the hostels. There is a common room with a colored TV with a Cable facility, internet, Music room, indoor games room and a library having selected books, magazines, and newspapers, etc., besides courts to volley Ball, Badminton, Basket Ball and Table Tennis in most of the Hostels. The Hostel Cafeteria is equipped with a refrigerator, Water Cooler, Solar, LPG Cooking, Job Computer facility, and BSNL Telephone booth. Each Hostel Cafeteria is run and managed by the students No Profit no loss basis through Hostel Supervisory Committee All students residing in the Hostels are to abide by Hostel Rules and Regulations/rules.

The College has a full-fledged University Hospital under the supervision of a whole time Chief Medical Officer in charge of a Surgeon, Two Contract Medical officers, a Lady Medical Officer who renders round-the-clock service to the students and staff members and their families. There is a separate ward for Male and female students. All the serious cases are referred to big hospitals like Malaya Hospital, Manipal Hospital, and Columbia Hospital.

The College having adequately equipped gymnasium physical fitness center and athletic as well as sports and games events.
