Mahatma Gandhi University was established in the year 1993 at Munduparamba College of Applied Science, Malappuram of Kerala state, and is an affiliated college. This institution, which has strived to offer quality education in applied sciences, provides a refined curriculum which much emphasis is provided to computer science. The college, as an affiliated college, has a total student enrolment capacity of 99 general students and focuses on providing personalised attention through maintaining a satisfactory student-faculty ratio.

The college is equipped with several amenities that provide a positive environment for the college students. The library is an outstanding feature here with remarkable collections of textbooks and subscriptions to periodicals in the Computer Science and Electronics fields. College of Applied Science, Malappuram, was established in 1993 and is affiliated with the University of Calicut, Kerala.  Another significant facility is the Electronics laboratory equipped with such identifying gear as microprocessor kits, CROs, and microcontroller kits, allowing the students to get practical experience of a particular field studied by them. It is equally equipped with IT facilities, ttwenty-twenty brandnew Core i3/dual-core/AMD Athlon computers connected through a D-Link advanced hub. This setup provides the students with free broadband internet connection with a speed of 4 Mbps for research and online class work. Moreover, the college possesses a DLP video projector and a laptop for seminars and presentations to provide better exposure to the students.

In terms of academic offerings, the College of Applied Science, Malappuram, currently provides one full-time undergraduate programme: B.Sc. in Computer Science.  This course aims to help students develop comprehensive computer science skills, so that the students can fit in with the current trends that are rapidly developing in the world.

The admission programmes implemented in the College of Applied Science, Malappuram, are fair to all aspiring students in the institution. Out of the total number of seats 50% of them are available through management quota, and the rest 50 % go through the CAP of Calicut University.
