The College of Education, Guwahati was established in the year 1987 is an affiliated college found in Christian Basti, Guwahati of the state Assam. This co-educational institution is recognised from the National Council for Teacher Education [Affiliation No. 93/2017/NCTE]. Located in a small area of 1 acres, the college’s main concentrations are teaching-centred education programs. The college has a total enrolment of 176 students and a faculty members of 16; thus, the college has an ideal student-teacher ratio thereby encouraging conducive learning.

The College of Education, Guwahati, which is passionate about the preparation of teachers has only one program that it offers to students and that is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). To support its educational mission, the college provides multiple infrastructures for its use. The I.T Infrastructure consist of the Facility of Computer Laboratories; having as main fundamentals to offer the students the technological resources required. A library helps the society by providing equal access to all sorts of educational resources in form of documents. 

In so far as the college’s academic programs are concerned, the College of Education, Guwahati is solely dedicated to its Bachelors in Education (B.Ed). Offered as a full time course this generally takes two years to complete and prepares the students for careers in education. 

The admission process of the College of Education, Guwahati is based on merit list and basically follows the Gauhati University rules. Applicants who enrol in a given year are first come first served and depending on the merit of those joining the university.
