The College of Education, Nagaon, was established in the year 1992 for betterment regarding educating the future students of Assam in India. Being an affiliated college, it has been recommended by NCTE and is situated at Shankar Mission Road in Nagaon. It possesses a compact campus of 1 acre and provides focused learning surroundings for aspiring educators. The college caters to a total enrolment of 297 students and has a faculty strength of 18. Such a number ensures an ideal academic environment where close and healthy interaction occurs between students and teachers. 

The College of Education, Nagaon, boasts facilities that help augment the learning conditions of its students. It has a well-stocked library acting as a hub of knowledge for budding teachers. It has kept pace with the changing modes of education and is well equipped with excellent IT infrastructure to prepare the students for the age of digital teaching. Programs offered at college are: Full time B.Ed. course with 100 seats and a full-time M.Ed. programme with 50 seats for two years duration each. Admissions to this course are made strictly on merit as Gauhati University prepares a list strictly in accordance with their Entrance Examination. Thus, the college can ensure that admission is offered only to those students who have already proved their aptitude and readiness to qualify for a teaching career. For M.Ed. The merit-based approach shall be based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination with focus strictly on the policies prescribed by the state government and the university, furthering the program also.
