Cordia Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is a separate college’s educating hospitality industry located in Sanghol, Punjab. This affiliated college was set up in 2009 and is located on 25 acres of land on the Chandigarh-Ludhiana Highway. Mainly focusing on hotel management and catering technology the institute at present has 56 students enroled and 5 teaching staffs. The present institute provides the undergraduate programme namely, bachelor of hotel management and catering technology or BHMCT which is also a four year full time course that aims at making students industry ready.

The institute is equipped with various facilities for learning to make viable comfortable environment for its students. A well-equipped gym enables students to sustain their health and physical standard; the state of the art, digitalized library is an integrated Knowledge Resource Centre containing a number of books, magazines, journals, research papers, newspapers etc. There are machinery facilities which help the students in their physical activities as well as help to enhance team spirit among them. The IT infrastructure looks rich: the computer labs are air-conditioned with state-of-the-practice high-speed networking, and the newest hardware and software are used. The students are able to get high-speed internet up to 6Mbps/Student, and they get wireless access point so that they could be well connected in the campus to get updated.

This institute currently provides its students with only one course i.e. the Bachelors in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT). This programme take four years and the course is a full time which would focus the student with the hospitality industry. The objective of the course is to deliver to the recipient student, a meaningful understanding of the subject, along with the necessary hands on skills that are essential into the challenging and competitive sphere of hospitality as well as in catering.

Cordia Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology admission process is formulated in such a way that it only admits qualified and enthusiast people in the hospitality industry. One should however know that the institute does have both boys’ and girls’ hostels which enable those students who wish to live in the institute to do so comfortably. This makes it easy for the students to have a feel of the topic and at the same time they feel that they are in a group of learners.
