Damdama College, Kamrup, an affiliated college of Gauhati University, is located in Kulhati, Assam. The college provides undergraduate programs mainly in arts and humanities. Thus, the admission processes at Damdama College are kept simple, fair, transparent, and merit-based to allow deserving candidates to pursue higher education through this institution.

The main admission process is usually initiated right after the announcement of the results of respective examinations. The Principal issues a circular inviting admission into the different courses. Eligible candidates are required to purchase the prospectus and admission form from the college office against the said payment.

Application Process

1. Prospectus and admission forms are available at the college office upon payment of the prescribed fee.

2. Completed application forms must be filled out.

3. Attach to the application form:
    • Attested copies of relevant documents (mark sheets, certificates)
    • Two passport-size photographs, duly signed by the applicant
    • Two self-addressed envelopes

4. Submission of the completed application form, along with all required documents, should be made within the specified time limit.

5. The Admission Committee of the college processes and decides on the applications.

6. Admission shall be strictly on the basis of merit and in accordance with college admission rules and government orders.

7. Admitted candidates are to produce the following documents in original at the time of admission:
    Age Certificate; Mark sheets; Caste certificate, if applicable; Income certificate; Gap certificate, if required, from the head of the last institution attended or any Government Medical Officer.

8. Candidates selected by the Admission Committee are to undergo the admission formalities as notified; else their selection will be canceled.

Degree wise Admission Process

• BA Assamese Major: The program has a sanctioned intake of 80 seats. To be eligible for admission, the candidates are supposed to have passed 10+2 from a recognized board.

• BA Education Major: The course has an intake of 80 seats, and applicants are to complete 10+2 from a recognized board and apply.

• BA Political Science Major: The program admits candidates with an approved intake of 80. Candidates must be qualified 10+2 from a recognized board.

• BA Economics Major: There are 50 seats available for this program. Candidates have to qualify 10+2 from a recognized board.

• BA English Major: Enrollment for this course is based on 50 seats. To be eligible, candidates must have qualified 10+2 from a recognized board.

• BA History Major: This course has an intake of 50. Therefore applicants need to have passed 10+2 from a recognized board.

• BA (General): Admission criteria remain the same as for the other BA programs, which require 10+2 qualification from a recognized board.
