The Department of Pharmaceutical Science, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, is a premier constituent college imparting pharmaceutical education and research. Located in Haryana, India, this institution is a co-educational setup and has received approval from PCI and AICTE to maintain the quality of education at par. This faculty of 18 offers a wide array of diverse programs in pharmaceutical sciences at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels to different specialisations.
The students of Department of Pharmaceutical Science have state-of-the-art facilities that enhance their learning processes. Well-equipped, furnished laboratories in the department are provided with sophisticated instruments such as HPLCs, HPTLC, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, and GLC. These advanced tools provide hands-on experience in pharmaceutical research and development to the students. At the department level, there is also accommodation for a comprehensive library that provides access to a wealth of academic resources for the students. Accommodation is provided by both boys' and girls' hostels within the campus in case of need. The Department of Pharmaceutical Science offers seven courses in total at three different degree levels. These include one four-year full-time B.Pharma program and five two-year full-time specialised M.Pharm programmes in Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Drug Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacology. A Ph.D. programme in Pharmaceutical Science is also offered to those who wish to pursue research. Therefore, with such a wide span of courses, the interests of the students may be oriented towards any one field in the pharmaceutical arena.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Science has designed its admission process to include only the most meritorious candidates. The admission details for B.Pharma, the scores are based on 10+2 in science subjects. M.Pharm programmes are mostly based on GPAT scores. This national-level entrance test is the important factor in admission to postgraduate pharmacy courses. The admission criteria for Ph.D. could be a master's in a related field and perhaps an entrance examination or an interview.
