Department of Computer Science and Applications, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa came into existence in the year 2003 as a constituent part of Haryana-based university in India. This co-educational institution is All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE approved, New Delhi. The department has three faculty members and is teaching two postgraduate programmes: M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, and Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

The impressive infrastructure and facilities of the university are vastly utilised by the Department of Computer Science and Applications. This four-storeyed building of the Vivekananda Library houses immense collections of books, journals, and digital resources and provides WiFi internet connectivity to students besides having a connection of e-books and e-journals through INFLIBNET and DELNET. On the top floor of this building housing the library stands the Computer Lab, the hotspot of research scholars, students, and staff members. The Society also arranges a number of workshops and training programmes which beget qualitative enrichment in the learning processes.

The Department of Computer Science and Applications operates two full-time P.G. programmes. Both the programmes are actually aimed at providing in-depth knowledge with practical skills regarding the related fields. The programme is in such design that skilled professionals come out at the end of it and can face the challenges that the ever-changing tech industry is presenting.

Admission in both the courses considers academic performance in a relevant undergraduate degree and entrance exam scores at national levels.
