The Directorate of Distance Education, Tamil University, Thanjavur was set up in the year 2005 is one of the leading provider of Distance Education Programmes. This institute is situated in the culturally privileged town of Thanjavur in the southern state of Tamil Nadu and it is constituent to Tamil University; the primary mission of which is the encouragement of the study of Tamil language, literature and culture. The Directorate has earned accreditation from the University Grants Commission (UGC) so as to deliver quality education to its students.
