Dr D. Veerendra Heggade Institute of Management Studies and Research (DVHIMSR) was set up in the year 2008 and is an established institution situated in the picturesque background of Dharwad, Karnataka. It is an affiliated college with Karnataka University, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), making its management courses competent. DVHIMSR is a small college with 1.5 acres of land, and it has 152 students studying here. This student-faculty ratio is well maintained by the institute along with 18 dedicated faculty members. 

DVHIMSR features a variety of amenities that are aimed at helping the students as well as improving performance among them. The institute has residential facilities for both boys and girls who are placed on the campus and within the vicinity. These hostels are comfortable to live with, with spacious rooms with no intermingling and separate playgrounds, which means they will have proper work-life balance. The institute majorly aims at handling postgraduate management education and trains MBA full-time programme with an approved strength of intakes as 120. The concept of this programme is based on a two-year structure, but the goal is to prepare a student in acquiring all basic knowledge and enhanced skills in the competitive world of business.

The admission process for DVHIMSR's MBA programme is primarily based on two entrance examinations. Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) and Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT). PGCET is conducted usually in the months of May-June, and K-MAT is conducted twice a year, so the students who aspire for those courses get more chances to get an admission.
