Dr. KV Subba Reddy Institute of Pharmacy, Lakshmipuram, Kurnool, was started in 2007. Being an affiliated college to the Pharmacy Council of India, it offers various programmes in the Pharmaceutical sector. The campus is spread over 2 acres and has a total intake of 594 students. The institute also promotes an almost equal sex ratio of 213 boys and 224 girls. The institute offers 5 courses across 4 degree programmes, having various options in the fields of pharmacy education. The institute has 9 faculty members, which helps in maintaining good student-faculty ratio for giving individual attention.

A modern central library has more than 100,000 documents in the form of technical books, reports, and journals—subscribed to 120 print periodicals and more than 60 e-journals. The campus is built with modern laboratories, as per AICTE and JNTUA guidelines. In addition, students will have practical exposure in their concerned field of studies. DRKVSRIP provides Wi-fi connectivity across the campus so that students can avail themselves of online facilities for their studies. The girls' hostel, in a secured environment through a high compound wall and solar fencing, is spread over 3 acres of land.

The DRKVSRIP offers all types of programmes in Pharmaceutical education. It runs 5 full-time courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels with a total approved intake of 220 seats. The undergraduate B. Pharma course has 100 seats, while at this level, the Pharm.D course admits 30 students. At the level of postgraduate study, it offers two M. Pharma programmes: Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmaceutics, admitting 15 students to each programme. The institute also offers a D. Pharma course with 60 seats. All these courses provide choices to the students for pursuing their goals and expectations in the pharmaceutical profession.

The Institute admission process at Dr. KV Subba Reddy Institute of Pharmacy is specified to be comprehensive and merit-based. The institute accepts scores of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test for its B.Pharma programme.
