Dr T Thimmaiah college Degree and Management Studies KGF originally started in 1962 is one of the oldest educational institutions in Kolar Gold Fields Karnataka. This affiliated college is located in a huge campus area of 20 acres and has been received the accreditation from the NAAC. The college enrol a total of 131 students and has a faculty of 58 members; it has set up a vibrant 5 course from 4 degree programmes. It claims to deliver quality education in various fields specifically Commerce, Computer Applications and Science for the contemporary learners.

A well-equipped health centre which has a visiting doctor on campus three time a week is responsible for the health of residents within the campus. Importantly, the institution offers five programmes of study, of which are under graduate and post graduate. These include B.Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics; B. Sc. Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology; B.Com. BCA (self–financed); and M.Com (self–financed). All these programmes are intended to be pursued on a full-time basis that is, the duration is structured in such a way that students can have focused learning of the subject matter in their areas of specialisation.
