Durgapur Polytechnic College, established in 2012, has been one of the prime technical institutions in Durgapur, West Bengal. It is a co-ed institution with a campus area of 5 acres and runs the Diploma Course in different branches of engineering. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, and it has a total student enrolment of 715 with a faculty strength of 37. Durgapur Polytechnic College offers four diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Mining Engineering with three years of duration each. Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mining Engineering, have 60 seats each. All the programs are full-time three-year courses designed to provide the students with a sound-based knowledge in their respective branches of engineering.

The admission to Durgapur Polytechnic College is primarily based on the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics, West Bengal, JEXPO. The entrance examination is conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development.
