The Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College is located in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu state. The college is also known as the DG Vaishnav College or even as the DGVC. The total college campus runs over twenty- five acres of land. The DGVC has been affiliated to the University of Madras, also located in the same city. This affiliation, ensures the approval of the UGC (University Grants Commission). The DGVC has also been accredited by the NAAC (National Assessments and Accreditation Council), earning an A grade rating in it. A separate IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) has been created to this end, to ensure that all the terms of the NAAC are complied with.
An AQAR (Annual Quality Assurance Report) gets generated to quantify the results. The Chennai- based Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College was founded back in the year 1964. The college has been named after its two principal donors during its formation. The Doss brothers were prominent educationists during their time. The college is run by its Vaishnav principles. It has also always believed in providing benefits to the broader society. The students here have likewise been instilled with such value. Courses are offered, here at the Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, right from the UGtill doctoral levels. These are courses from the liberal arts, science and commerce fields. At the under- grad level, the is the BA in Economics, Tamil, English, Sociology, Business Economics, Tourism & Travel Management and in Criminology & Police Administration. These are for the self- descriptive areas of- Language, Arts, Commerce, Science and Professional. The library here is one of the best stocked within the region. Besides the physical books on display, it also provides digital access to en number of international academic journals for research and academic purposes.
