As a young institution, Excellent College Kolar started in the year 2012 to bring quality education and brilliance in the state of Karnataka, India. Serving the younger generations this co-educational school is situated in Tekal Road, Chathrakodihali; The school has been in existence for over a decade. As an affiliated college it has a wide curriculum including undergraduate courses and streams in arts, commerce and science. The ratio of students to faculty members in the college is low; in fact, it currently employs 17 dedicated members of the faculty. 

Excellent College, Kolar is affiliated with the college Bengaluru North University, Kolar. Excellent College has state-of-the-art facilities that were set to improve teaching and learning environment with regards to the learners. At the centre of these is the District’s First Digital Library a modern facility in which students are able to access a wide range of online and physical books. The library has catalogue of computers with internet connection which enables the students to type their assignments, search for information, photocopy documents, and printout any document they wish. Laboratories are standard facility requirements for students in the sciences whose theories attain life like experiences when practiced. It also has operational ordinary and improved teaching and learning spaces: college and modern classrooms respectively. This is a cafeteria style eating place on campus offering and selling vegetarian meals, snacks and beverages for students to eat and mingle around. Because the college appreciates safe and timely transport, the college provides bus facilities from major areas of the Kolar district for the convenience of its students.

Out of total of seven programmes offered at Excellent College, Kolar all the programmes are under graduation and are full time programmes. All these courses are interdisciplinary and help to satisfy different educational curves. The college offers three-year under graduate programmes – Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), and a number of specialisations under the Streams of Bachelor of Arts (BA) Economics, Psychology & Political Science etc. and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc).
