In 1966, G Venkataswamy Naidu College (GVNC) was established in Kovilpatti, a town in the Thoothukudi district. There are 72 acres of land in all that make up the college campus. The Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU), which is headquartered in Tirunelveli in the same Tamil Nadu state, is affiliated with the GVNC.
