The college has state of the art facilities and infrastructure. the faculty is very dedicated and ensures each student gets personal attention as is given to students in schools. This is ensured by the presence of 3 teachers simultaneously in each lecture hall. The visiting faculty coming in also is highly learned and experienced to guide the students. This college just doesn't teach its students academics but also life lessons which are necessary for any person to become successful . The college is strict and highly disciplined . Being a professional college it college teaches all its students the professional ethics needed in the field and also the value of time . Besides all of these the college has exemplary hostel accommodation facility with air-conditioners and hot-water supply being the highlights. Gateway campus also has Wi-Fi connection and also a cafeteria which delivers food to the rooms of the students. The campus also has the facility of a swimming pool and a gym. Most importantly being located in Sonepat the administration takes care of safety and security of the students.
Gateway college of architecture, the last resort for any student who can't get admission anywhere else. At first the college and the campus might look very appealing and promising with a decent campus and infrastructure and a really cunning and witty dean. The first thing they'll tell you is that hostel is permanent for architecture students and it might not seem like a problem at first. You'll go and talk to the dean where he will ask you why do you want to pursue architecture and you'll tell him "because i am creative and i can sketch" and really no matter what you say you'll get the admission with a lot of money anyway. Anyway you'll finally get into this hell pit where you have to enter the college by 9 am at any cost or the gate keeper who thinks he has the most responsible job in this whole universe will close the doors for you forever, just kidding you can then enter the gate only at 11 or after the break which as at 2:30 so once you enter this hell pit of demons where the faculty will play with your life and will interfere even in your personal life, you can't escape the college premises.
The faculty was once decent but now it's filled with a bunch of B.Arch graduates who have no idea of what they are doing with their lives. The dean is the worst and trust me on this you'll realise it soon enough if you take admission here. There is no freedom you can take just skip 4 classes at most even if you have a medical condition or you'll get a supplementary for that particular subject.
And on top of all of this they put fine on everything to fill their pockets with black money. Fine for not attending classes or murals, fine on sleeping in the hostel, fine for not attending library, for having an argument with the college faculty, basically anything and everything and oh no it doesn't end here with a fine of 500 rupee which is only minimum the fine increases 20 or 50 rs per day.
I think it's pretty clear now, do not get into this hell hole trust me do something better with your life the whole culture here is just horrible and you'll spend most of your time dealing with depression rather than focusing on your career.
Infrastructure of college is good as we have got desk having switchboards for charging the laptops. Most of the work is done on softwares rather than drafting as in today work on software is more . Also the the faculty is very helpful. All funtions are celebrated . But the location of college is not good as it is sonipat.
Good infrastructure with renounced faculties. Teaches us all that is required to be a remarkable architect as well as an honest and a good human being. Includes all the subjects from building construction to structure mechanics. And most importantly help us improve our design , which would further decide where we would stamt in the market. A smooth and a healthy atmosphere . The college is nothing but a technical gurukul, which needs just you and your laptop. There are always more and more exposure and opportunities to learn. This is done through weekly excursions as well as there is a tour of a week every year , so that people are capable to learn of various architectural features in India . The learning is all through softwares. The college conduct extra mural activities every Wednesday which is compulsory in which whole of the gateway family reside and plan to learn more. In this there are 3 sections where first is the literature section in which there is usually written part such as articles , jingles, advertisements, etc. Second is the most important , that is design. In this there are certain activities such as sculpture making or thread painting or anything creative. The last part is the performing arts . In this the activities are to improve the confidence level , which usually include public speaking, quiz, mind games and debates. In all the college is a complete baggage of skill development .
