Gokhurapota B.Ed. College, Charatala, is an established college with a strong emphasis on teacher education in West Bengal. The two regular programs available at the college are Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).

The admission to the course is also merit-based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam and/or performance in the entrance test. The selection is as per the guidelines framed by the state government or UT administration. The candidates who passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board of examinations are eligible to apply for D.El.Ed. course.
