Gourishankar Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Satara, Maharashtra, was started in 2008. This affiliated college has been approved by PCI and offers all sorts of programmes in pharmaceutical education. All these programmes are conducted in its sprawling 30-acre campus. GIPER, at present, is hosting 410 students, with a balanced gender ratio of 46% male and 54% female students. The institute has a faculty strength of 28 and offers three courses across two degree levels.
Gourishankar Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Satara is affiliated with the college Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere. GIPER Satara has provided many facilities to support its students in the learning process. The modern boys' and girls' hostels have 100 students in each hostel with excellent amenities and mess facilities. The college library is quite a knowledge hub with a wide range of books, journals, and digital resources in the pharmacy and related fields. Physical well-being at the institution is catered to by indoor and outdoor sports facilities like football, cricket, lawn tennis, badminton, and table tennis. A state-of-art computer laboratory, an active cafeteria, and laboratories fitted with all latest apparatus according to various specialisations in the pharmaceutical field, is available at the campus.
It offers all pharmaceutical courses, right from undergraduate to postgraduate programmes. Three full-time courses are offered at GIPER: B.Pharma, B.Pharma Lateral Entry, and M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics.

GIPER Satara admission is primarily on the basis of merit obtained in relevant entrance examinations. The B.Pharma course is admitted through the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET). The aspiring students of the M.Pharma Pharmaceutics course at the postgraduate level have to qualify in Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
