About GCOEA Amravati

Established in 1964, the Government College of Engineering Amravati is the oldest engineering college that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college was established by the Government of Maharashtra along with three other government institutes at Pune, Aurangabad, and Karad.

The college campus is spread over 105 acres of land on Amravati Walgaon Road. Government College of Engineering Amravati is commonly known as GCOEA. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and all the eligible programmes are accredited by the NBA. Initially, the college was affiliated to Nagpur University, then to Amravati University now to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) in 1982.

In total, 2 degrees and 20 courses are offered by the Government College of Engineering Amravati for admission. The college offers courses at the UG and PG levels. Candidates have to sit for MHT CET/JEE Main , followed by counselling for B.Tech admissions. For M.Tech admissions, students must appear and obtain valid scores in GATE. Admissions will be offered based on the marks obtained by students in the respective entrance examination.

Scholarship Name	Eligibility Criteria	Benefits
Scholarship Scheme for State Minority Communities	The candidate must be an Indian national and domicile of Maharashtra state. Applicants must have passed SSC from Maharashtra state and must be “Bonafide Student of Institute” and admitted for professional and technical courses. The total annual family income of applicants should not exceed Rs 6 lakhs. Note: Candidates should not avail any other scholarship/stipend.	For the technical course ( part-I of GR ) scholarship amount maximum Rs.25,000/- per annum or actual fees whichever is less.
Post- Matric Tuition Fee and Examination (Freeship)	Student category should be Scheduled caste or Neo Buddhist and must be the domicile of Maharastra state. The parents/guardian annual income above Rs. 200000 to unlimited and applicants must have passed SSC. For professional courses, students should be admitted through the CAP round only. The institution must be government recognised and should be located in Maharashtra. Note: Only one failure is allowed in the whole curriculum.	Tuition fees, exam fees & other fees are covered under this scheme.
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme (Government of India)	The candidate family annual income should be equal to or less than Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Candidates must be 10th pass.	Hostellers/day scholars per month- Group 1- 1200/550 Rs Group 2- 820/530 Rs Group 3- 570/300 Rs Group 4- 380/230 Rs In addition to this, candidates will be entailed to escort allowance, special pay, book grant, study tours and thesis printing.
Tuition Fee and Exam Fee for Tribal Students (Freeship)	The family annual income limit is RS. > 2,50,000 renewal policy. Students must have passed the previous examination.	Tuition fees and Exam Fees is covered under the scheme.
Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna.	The candidate must be an Indian national and domicile of Maharashtra state. Applicant should be a bonafide student of the institute and admitted for professional and technical courses. Students must be admitted through CAP only and the family annual income should not be more than Rs.8 lakhs per annum. During course duration, the candidate should not have a gap of 2 or more than 2 years and a minimum of 50% attendance is mandatory in the previous semester (exception for fresh admitted in the college) Note: Deemed and private universities are not applicable.	50 % of tuition fees and 50 % of the exam fees.

Government College of Engineering Amravati offers admission to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the field of engineering and technology. Students aspiring for Government College of Engineering Amravati admissions are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. For admission to the B.Tech course, students need to appear for the MHT CET/JEE Main entrance examinations.
