Thanamandi Government Degree College was setup in the year 2005, and it is affiliated college which is at Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. This university is recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), in a showing of its adherence to quality education. Presently, the college has 515 students and 6 faculty members; the college offers several undergraduate courses. College offers four full time courses in three bachelors programmes in arts, commerce and science streams.

In this regard, Thanamandi Government Degree College has put up several facilities that seek to improve the learning environment and Developmental needs of the students. The core of the academic resources is a comfortable library equipped with thousand books in different fields of study, besides it offers subscription of different periodicals, magazines, and newspapers. For those interested in sports and games the college has good facilities like cricket ground and properly laid turfed, hockey and football ground, indoor hall and facility for basketball, volley ball, tennis and badminton courts. There is also a gym facility for the students who want to dedicate their time into their physical training. In practical learning the college is aware of this and provides the department based laboratory amenities for practical skills in specific courses.

Out of the four programmes offered by the Govt. Degree College, Thanamandi, all are now full time Under Graduation only. These are Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) with Medical and Non-Medical courses and Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM).
