This paper aims to present Government Engineering College, Chamarajanagar, also known as GEC Chamarajanagar, as an important institution that was founded in 2007 in Chamarajanagar, in Karnataka, India. This affiliated college, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE Educational Institution), provides the best education in the field of engineering from its lush green 42-acre campus. 768 students are admitted to GEC Chamarajanagar, and it has a faculty strength of 36, so it has a good learning atmosphere. The college has four four-year-long fully fledged Bachelor of Engineering (BE) courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering, respectively.
The college is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). GEC Chamarajanagar has many amenities to improve the academic and other aspects of the students. The college has 6,500 titles and 1,000 volumes of books in the college library that has a seating capacity for 30 students to enable any group to have a break from lectures, research and relax. Modern-day laboratories support each department to provide practical sessions. Existing infrastructures embrace the use of advanced technologies in teaching that is in conformity with the modern world. The students’ convenience being a major interest, the university provides accommodation in different hostels for both male and female students. The campus also has facilities for some form of exercise and group work for students in the form of sports. The cafeteria that is available to the company provides food and refreshments for breaks, and also is a centre for conversations.
The institute currently provides its students with four full-time Bachelor of Engineering (BE) courses, which take a period of four years. These programmes cover key engineering disciplines: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering.
Therefore, students pursuing admission in Government Engineering College, Chamarajanagar, have to attempt the Karnataka Common Entrance Test, K-CETT, which is being conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) of the Government of Karnataka.
