The Government Engineering College, Jamui, was established in 2018 with the purpose of addressing the growing demand for good technical education in Bihar. This is a co-educational institution situated at Jamui, Bihar, and comes under the affiliated colleges, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. Though newly established, GEC Jamui has surged ahead and has come up as one of the upcoming centres for engineering studies, with its first four B.Tech programs in branches of disciplines. The admission of GEC Jamui mainly takes place through two entrance examinations:
Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE), conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.
An entrance for national-level engineering aspirants known as Joint Entrance Examination (Main), or JEE Main.
Those who are eligible, to take admission into GEC Jamui, should have to qualify either for BCECE (both Screening and Main Examination) or JEE Main. Normally, admissions are done in August-September in that given academic year.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidate holds a 10+2 standard or has equivalent qualifications from a recognized board.
In the final examination, the subjects should be Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
Normally require an aggregate of 50% marks in the final examinations, subject cut off may vary.

Application Process
The following is the admission procedure for GEC Jamui:
Appear in BCECE or JEE Main:
Register for BCECE or JEE Main as per notice from the respective examination boards.
Prepare yourself for and sit for the entrance examination.
Counseling Registration:
Qualified candidates immediately after the declaration of the performance results must go on with the registration process for counselling.
For BCECE, counselling procedure as announced by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.
JoSAA counselling process for JEE Main.
Document Verification:
Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of documents.
Candidates require carrying along the original and photocopy of the necessary documentation to the counselling:
10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
Score card of the entrance exam taken (BCECE or JEE Main)
Category certificates which are valid for claiming category quota (if applicable)
Domicile certificates from the state of Bihar for the state quota (if applicable)
Any other certificates as mentioned by the institute
Seat Allotment:
Allotment would be done according to the rank obtained by a candidate with respect to choices filled by that candidate and available seats.
Candidates who were allotted a seat would have to confirm the acceptance of that seat within the stipulated time.
Fee Payment:
Fee-imposed candidates must pay their admission fees according to the seat allotment with the specified time.
Reporting to the Institute:
Candidates who have been allotted seats during the counseling process must report to GEC Jamui on the specified date and complete the remaining processes required for final admission.

College infrastructure of this college is very much poor. There is no wifi facilities. Sports ground is big, but there is no trainer or no coach in this college. Libraries is available and full of old books
