    About GECK Karwar

    Government Engineering College, Karwar (GECK Karwar) is a leading thrust university that came into existence in 2009. This affiliated college is located at Majali Village, Karwar Taluk, Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka state, and it occupies an area of 14.34 acres. GECK Karwar is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which provides quality engineers in our nation. The college is currently hosting a total of 597 students with the assistance of 12 members of the faculty. In GECK Karwar, four full-time BE programmes are there, which have a span of four years to produce well-equipped engineers of different fields.

    It is mandatory that the college strive to ensure it offers adequate facilities that will help facilitate a learning environment in order to enable the students to achieve their intended academic and personal needs. The library of GECK Karwar contains a book stock of 7612 books, out of which there is also an SC/ST Book Bank sanctioned by the Social Welfare Department of the Karnataka Government. This extensive collection is complete with additional contributions from students, faculty and other well-wishers. This college has modern and well-equipped laboratories for each department focusing on practical teaching for the students. To eradicate health problems within the community around the institute and its students, GECK Karwar has a health centre with first aid services.

    The government engineering college in Karwar presently has four full BE programmes, out of which each programme is dedicated to offering complete technical training in the respective sectors. These programmes are BE Mechanical Engineering, BE Civil Engineering, BE Electronics and Communication Engineering and BE Computer Science and Engineering.  Due to this wide field of engineering specialities, students can select a particular area of interest and their desired career path.

    The admission to the courses offered at this college follows the guidelines laid down by the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) mostly. KCET is a state-level entrance exam conducted to admit students for various engineering institutes within Karnataka. Government Engineering College admission seekers must, however, have completed the 10+2 with compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, in particular. The Government Engineering College admissions to these courses take place based on the merit achieved by the candidates in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). The following BE programmes are conducted here with an approved intake of 60 students for each programme:
