Government Engineering College, Kushalnagar abbreviated as GEC, Kushalnagar is one of the pioneering colleges for engineering started in the year 2007, located in the serene back drop of Kodagu, Karnataka. Housed in the central part of Kushalnagar, this affiliated college has been developing technical ASM talent for more than oneAs many years. GEC Kushalnagar is located on a vast area of 10 acres and currently possesses approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which makes the quality of education and its correspondence to high standards of the country considerable. At the moment, the college has four degree levels in engineering and is supporting 700 student  to 23 faculty members.

The GEC Kushalnagar infrastructure has various amenities which are contemporary to make learning more effective among the students. Through credit accumulation, the college has been able to source over 4,000 volumes that are stored at the college library to support academic purposes. Due to the competitiveness of current environment, the institution has established efficient information technology systems where currently, there is excess of 120 computers that are connected to internet at a speed of ten Mega bites per second, eight Mega bites per second. Several well-equipped laboratories are scattered throughout the campus to enable students practice what they learn in real engineering fields of their specialties.

With regard to the courses offered educationally, GEC Kushalnagar offers four years full time BE courses consisting of four years. They Include civil campus, Mechanical campus, Electronics and communications campus, Computer science and engineering campus. Such a focus enables the college to admit only a limited number of students so that the college can control the student-teacher ratio and then meet the needs of each learner.

It is worth to note that the most of the students get admission through the GATE and Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for the engineering stream. This particular test affords equity in admission beside offering a merit system, and more talented students apply from different parts of the state.
