The college named Government First Grade College for Women, Mangaluru has started its journey in the year 2007 offering higher education to the women folk in the coastal city of Mangaluru, Karnataka. NAAC accredited affiliated college offering a wide spectrum of undergraduate courses in different faculties. Located in a small plot of LAND area of 0.52 acres, the college as a total of enrolment capacity of 837 students and 16 faculty members. Through its vision to deliver quality education, the institution offers five courses under five degree programs for only female students to enable them achieve their academic success.

Some of the facilities include accommodations, computer and recreational services which the college tries to boast of to make the learning experience of its students better. The facility of well equipped library facilitates the students as knowledge center and they can get different academic materials. Sophisticated laboratories for practical purposes meet all the faculties and departments of the students. 

It also has a well-equipped IT department which means that its students meet the technological inputs from time to time. For those who are aspiring athletes, the college offers several establishments for athletics, sports as well as to build strong muscles of the body and character. Government First Grade Women’s college Mangaluru are providing almost every programme in full time undergraduate study. Currently, five courses are taught in the college across five degrees: B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Sc., and BA. These programs are intended to help learners achieve affordability and variety of academic specializations and career goals. Undergraduate program includes four specializations:Physics and chemistry,Mathematics and physics,Physics and computer science. The BA program has specialization in History, Economic, Political Science and History, Economics and Sociology.
