Government Medical College situated at Dindigul was set up in 2021 and thus is young medical college of Tamil Nadu state. This co-educational institution is an affiliated college which is situated at 1, Nallampatti Road, Adiyanoothu Village, Dindigul and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college presently has a single undergraduate programme – the MBBS – for which it has been approved to admit 150 students. As an institute run by the government its primary role is to ensure that it produces competent and quality health professionals able to address the health needs of the region.
The college has several a facility to achieve its mission of being an academic institution. This is a blooming institution, the Government Medical College, Dindigul in Tamil Nadu. The college underwent its first admission. According to national standards set for medical education in India, the college is subjected to a very rigorous admission procedure. To get admission in Government Medical College, Dindigul, candidates would have to qualify for the NEET-that is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-one of the national-level tests for prospective medical students. Admission would be given only after qualifying NEET with the prescribed cut-off marks.
