Government Polytechnic, Baloda Bazar, was started in the year 2014, situated at Vill-Sakari, Balodabazar, Chhattisgarh. This government owned institute located at a 10 acre campus is AICTE approved. The polytechnic offers three diploma programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical engineering with a total enrolment of 376 students. The institute runs with a faculty strength of 9 faculties which keeps the learning environment personalised.

Government Polytechnic, Baloda Bazar is an affiliated college of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai. The students’ library is an important information centre which also contains books and other materials. Though, the main concept of which is to provide access to print media, today the library has to expand into uses of new technologies to meet users’ needs and expectations. Government Polytechnic, Baloda Bazar caters for students who are interested in sports and physical activities through playground which will allow football, cricket and other games. The administration is trying its best to enhance a protruding interest for the students in the sporting body. Every department also has it specific laboratories and this makes technical education easier through practice. The same also has sound IT facilities intact to provide students monitory computed devices. An infirmary where first aid can be provided is also provided on the school’s compound in case of emergencies. Since the administration understands convenience to be of high priority, the college includes parking facilities for faculty staffs and students. The offered programmes of Government Polytechnic, Baloda Bazar are diploma programmes only, and all of them are the full-time education. The institute currently provides three diploma programmes, are Civil engineering, Electrical engineering and Mechanical engineering. All of these programmes take three years to complete and are aimed at preparing students focused on engineering profession.
