Government Polytechnic, Dwarahat was established in the academic year 1975-76 by U.P. Government for rural development and employment. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). GP Dwarahat offers courses for Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Civil Engineering, Pharmacy and Modern Office Management and Secretarial Practices at diploma level. Candidates are required to go through the GP Dwarahat eligibility criteria before applying for admissions. The GP Dwarahat admissions are done based on the merit of the previous academics.
The Government Polytechnic, Dwarahat has a separate placement cell to train the final-year students to secure career opportunities in various companies of the corporate sector. The GP Dwarahat placement cell invites companies to the placement drive for the recruitment process. GP Dwarahat has its own workshop building to perform practicals and experiments in the workshop building.
