    Government Polytechnic, Korba, as a technical college, was set up in 1987 at Korba of Chhattisgarh. This affiliated college, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provides a number of diploma courses in various engineering streams. Stretched over an area of forty-seven acres and ninety-seven cents, the institute has today an enrolment strength of total 467 and a faculty strength of 18. Government Polytechnic, Korba, offers six different programmes, five of them diploma-level and one post-diploma, in response to the need for skilled technicians in the country.

    The campus has a distinguishing hostel for boys and girls, making it convenient for learners from various parts of the country. A good library is equipped to meet the needs of all academic and research-based activities and functions as one. Also being witnessed is that the college has equipped each department with well-equipped laboratories where the students can practice. To ensure the protection of the student from the comfort of their classes, a campus-based medical centre with first aid facilities is present. The institute fully appreciates the role of technology in the existing academic system and has provided excellent IT facilities. Further, specific amenities for sports are developed in order to develop health consciousness among the students.
