Government Polytechnic, Korba, as a technical college, was set up in 1987 at Korba of Chhattisgarh. This affiliated college, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provides a number of diploma courses in various engineering streams. Stretched over an area of forty-seven acres and ninety-seven cents, the institute has today an enrolment strength of total 467 and a faculty strength of 18. Government Polytechnic, Korba, offers six different programmes, five of them diploma-level and one post-diploma, in response to the need for skilled technicians in the country.

The campus has a distinguishing hostel for boys and girls, making it convenient for learners from various parts of the country. A good library is equipped to meet the needs of all academic and research-based activities and functions as one. Also being witnessed is that the college has equipped each department with well-equipped laboratories where the students can practice.
