Government Polytechnic Sundernagar, Mandi was established in the year 1959 at Himachal Pradesh. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Research (AICTE), New Delhi. GP Sundernagar offers courses at Diploma level in Engineering stream. GP Sundernagar courses include Diploma in Automobile, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The GP Sundernagar admissions are done based on the merit of the previous academics and the scores of the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT). 

GP Sundernagar placement cell offers training for placement drives for the final-year students. The GP Sundernagar placements for final-year students will be done based on the students performance on academics. The placements will be done for various career opportunities. GP Sundernagar has partnered with various companies to offer placement opportunities for students. The GP Sundernagar campus is established with various facilities for students. It has Computer labs for students to perform practicals and other laboratories for respective departments. It is located on Chandigarh - Manali National Highway (NH - 21) at a distance of 175 kms from Chandigarh towards Manali. The campus is located 81 kms away from the Bhuntar Airport, Himachal Pradesh. The Kiratpur Sahib railway station is situated 67 kms from the campus.
