36 MonthsThe Diploma in Civil Engineering is a three-year full-time course offered by the Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for direct admission to the 2nd year (3rd semester) in Polytechnic Engineering diploma courses under the Lateral Entry Scheme as per the AICTE, Approval Process Handbook, are as under:-
- Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/Biology/Informatics Practices/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/Entrepreneurship, or
- 10th + 2 years ITI under NCVT/SCVT/COE in engineering stream shall be eligible for admission to Second Year Diploma Course(s) of appropriate Programme as per AICTE Norms. (The Affiliating Body will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Drawing, etc., for students from diverse backgrounds to achieve the desired learning outcomes of the programme).
Admission Details
- Candidates interested in taking admission in the first year of 3 years diploma program in Govt. Polytechnics are required to take PAT (Polytechnic Admission Test), which is being conducted by Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala Distt. Kangra, H.P every year in the month of April/May. The Directorate of Technical Education, H.P., Sundernagar conducts selection for admission to different courses through centralized counseling based on PAT merit.
- Admission into the second year of diploma-level courses under the lateral entry scheme is made based on merit of LEET (Lateral Entry Entrance Test) or 10+2 science after exhausting the merit of LEET.
