Government Polytechnic, Takhatpur, was established in 1998. It is an affiliated college at Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. This Technical Institution has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and conducts programmes in engineering disciplines. The institute has an enrolment of 106 students and a faculty strength of 10.

Government Polytechnic, Takhatpur offers three full-time diploma courses each of three-year duration with 40 seats in Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering respectively, which sums up to a sanctioned intake of 80 students per year.
