Govindrao Nikam College of Pharmacy, Sawarde, was established in the year 2005 and is one of the premier institutions in Pharmaceutical Education. The affiliated college is spread over 6 acres and is located in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and All India Council for Technical Education. The institution has a total enrolment of 373 students in the college. The strength of faculty members was 40, offering 3 degree programmes through various specialisations in the field of pharmacy.

In the campus, there are different hostels for boys and girls; completely equipped with modern facilities like gymnasiums, hot water, power backup, and solar panels. Govindrao Nikam College of Pharmacy, affiliated by University of Mumbai, offers a wide variety of courses that cater to different levels involved with pharmaceutical education. The institute offers three full-time courses viz. B.Pharma, D.Pharma, and M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics. 

The admission process at Govindrao Nikam College of Pharmacy varies from one programmes to another. The B.Pharma course is based on the results of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, where candidates need to have non-zero marks in the test. M.Pharma course follows a Central Allotment Process and probably considers GPAT scores.
