The college has sports facilities for all students. The academic atmosphere in the college attempts to nurture a healthy mind in the students and the endeavour of the Physical Education Department is to give them a healthy body. This Department is housed in the Arts Block and is responsible for sports activities and maintenance of the playing fields. The department is manned by a well qualified staff. The activities of the Department are chalked out by the College Sports Board. The College owns an impressive sports infrastructure. Students, both resident as well non-resident, have the facilities of a cricket ground with a properly laid turf, hockey and football fields, besides an indoor hall and a number of other courts for basket ball, volleyball, tennis, badminton etc. Students are encouraged to participate in games at College as well as University level and the selected students play in national events also. After the completion of the admission process, College teams are announced on the basis of a rigorous selection process. The sportsmen are provided all necessary facilities like equipment, uniform, traveling allowance and refreshment for training as well as during the conduct of the tournaments. Deserving high achievers are considered for the award of College Colours every year, on the basis of overall performance of the players in and outside the sports fields. Players are expected to be disciplined and highly punctual.

The NSS aims at developing the personality of the volunteers through community service. It exposes them to situations that provide the volunteers an opportunity to have a close look at human, social, and environmental problems. They are trained to bring about a harmonious relationship among different sections of society. There are two NSS units, each with a strength of 100 volunteers, in the college. All these units work under the guidance of trained faculty members, known as Programme Officers. NSS volunteers are expected to put in at least 120 hours of social/community work during the academic session and also attend a minimum of one camp of 10 days to become eligible for a certificate. An annual camp for NSS volunteers is held every year, generally during summer break, atthe college as well as university level. Enrollment for NS is carried out at the start of the academic session as per the schedule given in the institutional calendar. Students desirous of joining NSS should contact the programme officers.
