GVM Girls College, Sonipat Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has three Hostels, aptly named ‘OJASWINI KUNJ’, ‘TEJSWINI KUNJ’, and ‘MANSWINI KUNJ’, which are the third home to nearly 475 students .‘A home away from home is the basic concept of the college hostel. These hostels are loaded with all the modern facilities to provide a comfortable living for the students. All the rooms in these hostels are well-furnished, well-lighted, and airy. Every room is shared by four girls, and every girl has her own bed, a cupboard, and a study table with chairs. A RO water facility has been provided to the students for fresh drinking water, and geysers in bathrooms for hot water facilities in winter. A temple on hostel premises inculcates religious sentiments among students. Girls from far-off places like Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, UP, MP, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana enroll each year to study in different courses.

The college has a fully equipped library, providing excellent support to students as well as serving as a backbone to quite a few activities happening inside the college. Besides a physical library, the college also has a computerized library, collecting numerous text material references, journals, magazines, and audio-visual aids. A wide range of CD-ROMs, carefully selected by skilled teaching staff, has also been made available to make educational practices easier than ever. Also, on a regular basis, the library subscribes to several useful newspapers and periodicals. It is also equipped with an Internet facility. The modern computer library with updated systems equipped with internet access and the latest software applications constitutes an integral part of the college.

The college has an excellent IT infrastructure for students.

The Canteen is the nucleus of college life, and keeping this fact in mind, the college has two spacious and well-maintained canteens to cater to the needs of students as well as the members of the staff. To monitor the smooth functioning of the canteens, a canteen committee was constituted for the purpose of keeping a regular watch on hygienic surroundings. The canteens serve light refreshments and a variety of snacks, as it is such a popular meeting place for students to tickle their taste buds. Various changes are made to the menu, and snacks are made available to meet their needs and desires.

The College has an Auditorium. Extensively used by the students for extra-curricular activities and for hosting functions of the College. It has an advanced lighting and sound system managed by specially designated support staff. It is equipped with a large stage, two green rooms, comfortable seating, carpeting, wall paneling for acoustic effects, washrooms, and a podium.

The college has a good networking for the alumni association.

The college health center contributes significantly to students' health. The students can avail themselves of the services of the health center in times of emergency and during college hours. A qualified doctor is available from 10 am to 1 pm in the college medical room.

The College has a vehicle stand facility near the main gate of the college. Only those students who have paid their dues for the same will be allowed to park their vehicles in the parking. A student will have to pay the parking fee for the whole year, even if she brings a vehicle for a day or two.

The College has an in-house Tuck shop. The tuck shop provides stationery products to the students. The shop remains open on all working days during College hours.

The college has sports facilities for all students.
