Hajee Karutha Rowther Howdia College, Uthamapalayam, is an autonomous college which was started in the year 1956 at Tamil Nadu, India. The college is affiliated to National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is spread over an area of 25 acres. The college offers 40 courses in ten degree programmes in which 2,628 students and 149 members of the faculty are enroled.
Hajee Karutha Rowther Howdia College provides many facilities that may be useful and helpful during the teaching-learning process. A computerised library is especially important as a resource center for students and members of the faculty. The sports facilities are more developed with 400-meter athletic track, outdoor gallery, both for 1000 people, and grounds for cricket, football, volleyball etc. Shuttle badminton, volleyball and basketball has courting that can be-done inside an indoor stadium. It is also well equipped with state of art laboratories for UG and PG , both academic and research oriented. Modern gymnasium for men and women encourages the spirit of exercising. Hostel for girls is available having a capacity of 150 inmates which has quality canteen facilities, purified drinking water, round the clock security services.
Howdia College is a fully fledged college offering all sorts of courses for the students. To a great extent, 40 courses include mostly full-time programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels-MA History, M.Sc Chemistery, P.hd Physics, MA Economics and M.Phil Chemistry etc . The necessary offering of the college includes 26 undergraduate curriculum, 11 postgraduate curriculum and 3 doctorate degrees.
