About Hi Tech College of Nursing, Bhubaneswar
Hi-Tech College of Nursing at Bhubaneswar was started in the year 2006 and is one of the well known college for nursing education in the state of Orissa India. It was separately located in Pandara, Rasulgarh and is a affiliated college which runs under the approval of Indian Nursing Council (INC) to provide quality nursing education. The college is located in a 3- acre campus, and has an overall enrolment of 276 students and 45 faculty members thus has a very good student-teacher ratio. Hi-Tech College of Nursing has developed an extensive course level structure of six courses with two degrees for below and postgraduate level nursing studies.
It should be noted that promoting and sustaining a favourable learning climate is a priority of Hi-Tech College of Nursing to its students. They include extensive provisions of centres to foster academic as well as extra-curriculum development. Facilities include functional laboratory and practical sessions, an adequate facility of well-stocked library and other essential learning and teaching aids such as computers. In the area of physical well-being of the students and health improvement the college offers the students/to provide the students with the sports facilities and a gym. The campus also has its own different hostels for boys and girls which provide accommodation to out-station students. A cafeteria is provided for students and staff for taking their meals while an auditorium for meetings and seminar and other social activities. It also has a health center to offer first aid services to ensure that students in this large institution keep fit. SIC also has a transport facility for the student and staff’s commute to help improve the access to the facility.
Hi-Tech College of Nursing has, in total, six courses to offer, and all of them are full time. Under the offering of the university, the course includes under graduate and post graduate levels to offer diversification of specialisation of the nursing students. The college is approved for 125 seats through out all the courses it offers Under undergraduate level the college provides 4- year B.Sc Nursing with 100 intake capacity. Postgraduate course is comprised of five M.Sc (Nursing) programmes of 2 years duration including Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing having 4-6 seats each.
