Himalayan Institute of Computer Science, Sirmour Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has two hostels for boys (Sr. Boys Hostel and Jr. Boys Hostel). The mess of each hostel is equipped with modern facilities. Each hostel has a Residential Warden under the direction of the Chief Warden, who ensures implementation of discipline and creation of an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Spacious and well-ventilated rooms with adequate furniture and cupboards are available to provide the students with a homely environment.

The College has a Girls' Hostel that is located within the campus and has facilities for indoor games. Special arrangements have been made for the safety, security, and privacy of the girls residing in the hostel. To cater to the requirement of increased intake, further stories have been added to the Girls' Hostel this year.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The College has an automated central library covering an area of 900 m². With the developments in computers, microelectronics, and communication technologies, the behavioral characteristics of information seekers have been changing rapidly, and the library is trying its best to adapt to technological advancements. A large number of reference books and national and international journals on a variety of subjects are also available, which assist in processing information and updating knowledge. The library is fully computerized and embellished with a Wi-Fi zone with photocopy and printing facilities. The digital section provides the students with Audio/ Video CD and CBT. Library services can be availed round the clock. ERP Software has also been instituted in a library system.

The College has Indoor games like carom, chess, table tennis, and many more available to the students for leisure time activities and entertainment. Outdoor games like Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Football, Cricket, Hand Ball, Scatting, Ring Throw Ball, Track, Long Jump, Shot Put, Athletics, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Wrestling, Hockey, and others are being provided to the students to inculcate the values of co-operation and healthy competition in the students.

The College has fully air-conditioned, and the students are privileged to have unlimited access round the clock. The laboratories are equipped with structured fiber optic and UTP cabling networks and other relevant software.  We have state-of-the-art computer laboratories with 410 computers (DELL, ACER, and HP make), 5 servers, 38 printers with a dedicated network.

The College has a Cafeteria regularly, and the food purchased there makes a significant contribution to their total food intake and nutrition. In addition to the provision of nutritious food, the Cafeteria has an important role within the broader college environment in complementing the knowledge, skills, and behaviors about healthy eating and lifestyles that are taught in the classroom.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College has a transport facility that is fully equipped to provide the safest and most convenient transport solution. The college provides excellent transportation facilities with a fleet of buses. Transportation focuses on accessibility rather than mobility, and the Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions provides a wide range of transportation facilities. We covered the entire route through the bus system. These buses bring the students and staff to the campus in the morning before the commencement of the classwork and return after the completion of the classwork. To ensure smooth commuting to and from the college, the Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions runs its fleet of buses for students and staff from Himalayan and beyond, facilitating the movement of students and staff.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The College has Wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi), using which the students can access online information anywhere in and around the campus using their Laptops and Handheld devices. Recently, Reliance Jio has also installed OFC in the campus and provides free Wi-Fi connectivity to the students, teachers, and all for their Laptops and Handheld devices. All the buildings of the campus are connected with the OFC, providing a high-speed internet facility.

The college has department-based laboratory facilities for the students.

The College has an ATM ( Punjab National Bank) facility for the students and also for the staff members so that they can easily transact their amount either deposit/withdraw at any time (24*7) for their daily needs.

The College has a guest house with well-furnished rooms. These rooms have attached bathrooms cum toilets. These rooms have all modern facilities such as A/C, LED, Wi-Fi, and so on. These rooms are available for parents and also for students when they come in off-hours. No charges are taken for these rooms.

The College has Classrooms designed in a form that students can easily and comfortably view the boards and the audio-visual devices without any obstruction. Modern pedagogy is being used by the faculties to make interesting teaching, such as PPT rooms, overhead projectors, LCD projectors, and magnetic graph boards, which are also available for the convenience of teachers. Well-equipped tutorial rooms are also available for better interaction between students and teachers. Spacious, air-cooled, well-lit, echo-proof stepped classrooms with the facility of LCD projectors, Touch Panels, PC with internet connection, and audiovisual interface throw shine on the quality education of the Institution.
